Most people who become stamp collectors start out just for fun. Generally, those who take up stamp collecting as a hobby won’t make a lot of money at it unless they really know their stuff, and are willing to invest in rare and unusual stamps. What should you collect as a hobby; coins, paper money, or stamps?
Which will be the best investment?
I find it strange that some people who collect coins, paper money, or stamps, always want some kind of return on their investment. These are the same people who think nothing of buying a new car and then selling it a few years later for a fraction of what they paid for it. A new car loses value as soon as you drive it on the road!
As for investing in paper money, if someone is buying notes and thinking how much will they be able to get when they sell them again, this person has the wrong hobby. Enjoy

Children & Collecting - Part 2 -TSWBATs and How to Inflict Them on Your Kids
I am a sometimes teacher, and though most of my teaching has been inflicted on adults, I have also taught high school. So it seems to me that I might do well to write about children and collecting from a viewpoint of a teacher. I have no kids of my own -and I’m not at all sure this is a handicap. I have a more global view of the subject, I think. For example, are you the parent of a nascent collector who has brought home every repellent little bug he or she can find and let them loose in the house?

Amazing Stamp Collecting In America
Stamp research is called Philately. Many Americans become drawn to this large field of research. This attraction with stamps and all of the history concerning them has started a hobby connected to philately, which is stamp collecting.
Normally, stamp collecting starts by acquiring a few stamps and choosing a certain type of stamp that the collector will pay attention to.
